Passed and Butlered Hors d’oeuvres

Taittinger Prestige Rosé, Champagne/France             91 points Wine Advocate

Parties start with bubbles and this impressive offering from Taittinger is full and the wonderfully expressive nose delivers aromas of crushed raspberries, cherries and black currants that lead to fresh red fruit flowers on the palate.
Velvety and full bodied, this wine is lively, fruity and fresh.

About the Menu

We currently have the pleasure of working directly with the Honig Vineyard and Winery staff to comprise a menu that will pair perfectly with Michael Honig’s wines we are featuring.

While I have been so lucky to have tasted the wines, the people at Honig know the wines far better than I do.

Here we present to you  in corroboration with the fine team at Honig, we feature the bounty of the Hudson Valley and the farmers we support!

Amuse Bouche

Honig Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Honeysuckle and stone fruit aromas and flavors flow into a perfectly round mid-palate, followed by bright citrus reminiscent of lime and ruby grapefruit.

First Course

Sea Scallop
Pan Seared with sea salt and a hit of cayenne, orange segments, jalapeno vinaigrette drizzle

Peach, melon and apple tart characters open up to a lovely silky mid-palate. The finish is lengthy and complex. Layers of jasmine, honeysuckle, ruby grapefruit, and lime play perfectly with the oak

Chopped Romaine and Baby kale with Terra Ridge Farm Pancetta, Fishkill Farms Apple, Feta Cheese, Pecans, Sweet Cranberries, Lemon Vinaigrette

Honig Cabernet Sauvignon 2021         90 Points James suckling
A lovely combination of black raspberry and cherry enhanced by savory notes and exotic spices (think Garam masala) and cocoa nibs. The texture is rich, framed by just the right amount of tannin and acid, giving a sense of perfect balance.

Honig Cabernet sauvignon “Bartolucci” Vineyard 2021              91 points Robert Parker
The classic cherry and plum fruit characters that define the Bartolucci Vineyard are ever present in wines from this vineyard. This richly textured bottling presents the palate with a lovely mélange of floral notes, white pepper, spice box, and plum tart. It finishes with enticing cocoa power tannins, bright cherry and ripe berry flavors. Concentrated and rich, this age worthy wine is quite enjoyable upon release and will easily continue to be delicious for at least another 10 years.

Honig Sauvignon Blanc Late Harvest 2019 Only Made in select years
Bright and complex, this wine shows citrus, green apple and dried pear elements interwoven with vanilla, grapefruit rind and dried stone fruit. There is an enticing dash of melon on the finish, DESSERT IN A GLASS!
